Hypocrisy At The RNC

McCain said change is coming during his speech at the Republican National Convention. He warned big spending, do-nothing, me-first and country-second politics. But, the only problem is who are the big spenders? The people who are spending billions of dollars each week on the war in Iraq? Or perhaps the governor of the state that spends more of our federal tax dollars per capita than any other state? Hint: the state rhymes with balaska (Alaska).
Did McCain propose a plan to end the war in Iraq? Or how about cutting all those frivolous earmarks for Alaska to pay for the 1 trillion dollar tax-cut for the ultra-rich he's been advocating?John McCain offered more of the same by the time his speech was over. He says he wants to stop the flow of money to programs, and talks about how we will re-educate people. Well, Mr. McCain, how to plan on doing that with 100 years of more wars in Iraq? Mr. McCain, why don't you ask Bush how he can demand Russian troops leave Georgia, while he is fighting to continue the occupation of Iraq.
McCain's only viable argument for presidency is 5.5 years as a P.O.W. McCain's governing philosophy include tax cuts, cut programs, reactionary militarism, privatization of government functions, laissez-faire economics, constructionist judges, and a partridge in a pear tree. Seems like a continuation of Bush philosophy to me.
McCain is a re-assimilated Bushalike. Eight years ago, he might have stood for something, worked against all of the things he now supports. Now, he is just another political farce, exploiting his P.O.W experience. He calls for an end to partisan rancor but his party spent the last three days attacking the other party with political venom. Senator McCain didn't stay true to himself. He morphed into right-wing, polarizing ideologue. No doubt, he'll loose sight of his values and fall victim to the allure of power and loose his good judgment. He already displayed that fact. Do we really want this ideology to be in control of the military or our nuclear stockpiles?
If the republicans are victorious in 2008, I will loose all hope in this Country.
Lets not even get start with "pitbull Palin."
Ok, lets do a little. Here is a break down of some fact checking from Palin's speech at the RNC as reported by By JIM KUHNHENN of the Associated Press.
PALIN: I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere.THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere."
Continue on to more fact checking. (Yahoo! News)
